About this place

Plopsaland Deutschland in Haßloch, known as Holiday Park until June 2025, is a theme park in the Palatinate region of southwest Germany, a short drive from Mannheim and about an hour from Frankfurt Airport. Its roughly 40 hectares (100 acres) combine one of Europe's best-known steel coasters, Expedition GeForce, with gentle areas themed on European children's TV characters such as Maya the Bee and Vicky the Viking.

History

The Schneider family took over a small fairy-tale park here in 1970, reopened it the following year and renamed it Holiday Park in 1973. In 2010 the Belgian entertainment company Studio 100, owner of the Plopsa parks in Belgium, bought it, and on June 28, 2025 it became Plopsaland Deutschland. In 2025 it welcomed about 804,000 visitors.

Things to do at Plopsaland Deutschland

  • Expedition GeForce (2001): an Intamin mega coaster about 175 feet (53 m) tall with speeds up to 75 mph – the park's signature ride.
  • Sky Scream (2014): a launched coaster.
  • Free Fall Tower: a drop tower visible from far away.
  • 100% Wolf (new in 2026): a family coaster.
  • Majaland and Wickieland: rides and play areas for small children, plus water rides like Dino Splash.

Fall events and the end of the 2026 season

The Plopsa Herbstfest pumpkin festival runs from October 1 to November 1, 2026. On Fridays and Saturdays from October 2 to 31, the Halloween Fright Nights keep the park open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with scare zones, shows and six haunted houses (recommended for ages 16 and up, separate timed tickets). The main season ends on November 1.

Tickets and opening hours

As of October 2026, dated online tickets start at €36, family tickets start at €43 per person, and an undated ticket valid for one year costs €58. Fright Nights admission starts at €39; a bundle for all haunted houses costs €49 on top. Daily opening hours are posted in the park's online calendar. Parking costs extra and can be prepaid online.

How to get to Plopsaland Deutschland

By car, take the A65 autobahn or the B9 highway; the address is Holiday-Park-Straße 1–5, 67454 Haßloch. By rail, ride a regional train to Haßloch (Pfalz) station – Mannheim and Ludwigshafen are the nearest major hubs – and take the park's shuttle bus, which runs until November 1. The shuttle is included in local VRN tickets to Haßloch and in the Deutschlandticket.

Is it worth visiting?

It is a good pick for families and for coaster fans who want to ride GeForce. Make a weekend of it: the park sits near the German Wine Route, Hambach Castle – a symbol of early German democracy – and the UNESCO-listed Speyer Cathedral.
