§ 2. Services

There is no entitlement to any particular feature or to uninterrupted availability. We may change, extend or discontinue features; we will inform you in good time of material changes affecting your account.

  • a catalogue, search, map, travel ideas and editorial articles about attractions — without an account,
  • saved places — in your browser without an account, across devices with an account,
  • a user account (registration and sign-in with email and password, via an email link or with a Google account),
  • attraction reviews for signed-in users (§ 6),
  • correction suggestions via the “Suggest a correction” form,
  • additional information such as weather forecasts (data: MET Norway) and links to route planning by third parties.

§ 3. Technical requirements

We use cookies and browser storage as described in the Cookie Policy; non-essential cookies only with your consent.

Cookie Policy

§ 4. User account

  • The free account agreement is concluded on registration (including first sign-in with Google or via an email link) and runs for an indefinite period. Accounts are intended for people aged 16 and over.
  • Please keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account to the extent you are at fault.
  • You can have your account deleted at any time, free of charge and without giving reasons, by writing to kontakt@tripto.de from the email address linked to the account. We delete it without undue delay, within 14 days at the latest.
  • We may terminate the agreement with 30 days’ notice, e.g. if the service is discontinued. In case of serious or repeated breaches of these terms or the law we may suspend the account or terminate without notice; we will give you reasons (§ 9).

§ 5. User obligations

Use tripto.de in accordance with the law and these terms. In particular, you must not:

  • post unlawful, offensive, discriminatory or violent content or content infringing personality rights,
  • spread spam, advertising or links to other websites, or post content automatically,
  • infringe copyrights, trademarks or other rights of third parties,
  • post false or misleading reviews, e.g. about places you do not know, paid reviews or reviews by owners, employees or competitors of an attraction; reviews in exchange for payment or other benefits are permitted only with clear disclosure,
  • publish personal data of third parties,
  • impersonate others, disrupt the website, circumvent security measures or retrieve content automatically on a large scale.

§ 6. Reviews

  • Signed-in users can post one review per attraction (rating 1–5, text, optional month of visit) and later edit it or have it deleted.
  • Reviews appear under a pseudonym (e.g. “Traveller #1234”), without name or email address.
  • Before publication the text is checked automatically, among other things for links and prohibited content; after publication we may review reviews — particularly following a notice — and hide or remove those that break the rules.
  • We do not verify whether authors actually visited the attraction. Reviews reflect their authors’ opinions, not ours.
  • Reviews are shown newest first; the average rating is calculated from all published reviews. We do not remove reviews because of a low rating and accept no payment for publishing, removing or ordering reviews.
  • By posting, you grant us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide right to display, reproduce and make the review publicly available on tripto.de (including in translation or as excerpts). The right ends when the review is removed. You confirm that you hold the necessary rights to your content.

§ 7. Ranking of attractions

Lists of attractions (e.g. by federal state, city and category) are sorted primarily by popularity on tripto.de, with editorial adjustments (e.g. to avoid repeated similar photos or clusters from one city at the top). Search results also consider how well they match the query; map views consider the visible area and selected filters.

We accept no payment for including an attraction or for its position in lists.

§ 8. Notices of illegal content

Anyone can report content on tripto.de they consider illegal or incompatible with these terms by email to kontakt@tripto.de. A notice should contain (Art. 16(2) DSA): an explanation of why the content is allegedly illegal; its exact location (URL and, if needed, an excerpt); the name and email address of the notifier (except for certain offences under Art. 16(2)(c) DSA); and a statement that the information is accurate and complete to the best of the notifier’s knowledge.

We confirm receipt (if an email address is given) and handle notices in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner. Decisions are made by a human. We inform you of our decision and available redress. Where information gives rise to a suspicion of a criminal offence involving a threat to the life or safety of persons, we promptly inform the competent authorities.

§ 9. Moderation and appeals

Possible measures are withholding, hiding or removing content and, for serious or repeated breaches, suspending or deleting the account. Affected users receive a clear and specific statement of reasons under Art. 17 DSA (type and scope of the measure, facts relied on, whether it was taken following a notice or on our own initiative and whether automated means were used, the legal ground or term breached, available redress), provided we know their email address.

On a voluntary basis we offer an internal appeal: within 14 days of being notified of a decision, affected users and notifiers can object by email to kontakt@tripto.de. We decide within 14 days at the latest. Recourse to the courts remains unaffected.

§ 10. Point of contact

The single point of contact for Member State authorities, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services (Art. 11 DSA) and for users (Art. 12 DSA) is kontakt@tripto.de. Communication is possible in German, English and Polish and is not solely automated.

§ 12. Liability

As our services are free of charge, we are liable without limitation only for intent and gross negligence and for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health. Otherwise our liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory statutory liability — in particular in favour of consumers — remains unaffected.

§ 13. Intellectual property

Texts, design, software and other content of tripto.de are protected by copyright. Use beyond what the law permits requires our consent.

Some photos come from Wikimedia Commons and are used under free licences; author and licence are credited with each photo. Map data: © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).

§ 14. Complaints and dispute resolution

Please send complaints about tripto.de to kontakt@tripto.de. We usually reply within 14 days.

We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Section 36 VSBG).

§ 15. Data protection

How we process personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Privacy Policy

§ 16. Changes

We may change these terms for good reason, e.g. changes in the law, new or changed features or to prevent abuse. We inform account holders by email at least 15 days before changes take effect. If you do not agree, you can have your account deleted free of charge before then.

§ 17. Governing law and jurisdiction

Polish law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If the user is a consumer, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country of their habitual residence (Art. 6(2) Rome I Regulation). Consumers habitually resident in Germany thus retain the protection of mandatory German consumer law.

Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their place of domicile and may be sued only there (Art. 18 Brussels Ia Regulation). For business users, the place of jurisdiction is the Provider’s registered location.

If individual provisions are invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected. These terms apply from 10 October 2026. The German version is authoritative; the English version is for information.
