About this place

Ravensburger Spieleland in Meckenbeuren, between Ravensburg and Friedrichshafen near Lake Constance, is a theme park built around the games and characters of the famous German puzzle and board game maker Ravensburger. It is aimed squarely at families with children aged roughly 2 to 14: instead of extreme coasters, kids drive electric cars, solve puzzles and meet TV favorites like "The Mouse" from German children's television.

Background

The park opened on April 5, 1998 and is owned by Ravensburger. Its eight themed areas cover about 30 hectares (75 acres), including worlds dedicated to Brio wooden toys, Captain Bluebear and The Mouse and the Elephant. In 2024 it welcomed around 460,000 visitors. A holiday village with themed cottages and camper pitches was added in 2016.

Things to do at Ravensburger Spieleland

  • GraviTrax Spinning Coaster (2021): the park's first roller coaster, inspired by Ravensburger's marble-run system.
  • Traffic school: about 25 electric cars that kids drive themselves.
  • Bosch Car Service workshop: hands-on tire changes and repairs for young mechanics.
  • The Mouse and the Elephant world: rides and play areas themed on the TV show.
  • Scotland Yard: an area based on the classic detective board game.

Rides open at 10:15 a.m., and most families stay the whole day.

Halloween runs from October 26 to November 1 with a haunted house, a puzzle trail and pumpkin carving, and extended hours until 6 p.m. on October 29 and 30. The winter break starts on November 2.

As of October 2026, a dated online day ticket starts at €42 (child or adult), and the walk-up price is €51. Children under 3 enter free, wheelchair users and blind visitors too. Parking costs €6 per vehicle.

How to get to Ravensburger Spieleland

By car, enter "Am Hangenwald 1, 88074 Meckenbeuren" in your navigation; there is a large parking lot at the entrance. By public transport, bus 900 runs from Ravensburg and Friedrichshafen to the "Liebenau Spieleland B 467" stop, and an express bus connects Konstanz via Meersburg with the main entrance. Visitors from Switzerland can combine the Romanshorn–Friedrichshafen ferry or the Konstanz catamaran with the park bus. Friedrichshafen Airport is the closest airport; Munich and Stuttgart are about two hours away by car.

Is it worth visiting?

For families with younger kids, yes – especially combined with a few days at Lake Constance. Nearby, the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen and the towered old town of Ravensburg round out the trip.
